Paul R. Olson is a Managing Director at Gershman Investment Corp. He specializes in FHA Insured financing for multifamily, affordable housing and senior housing properties, on a nationwide scale. Over his 30+ year financial services career, he has closed over $3 billion of financings. Paul’s expertise encompasses refinancing, new construction, acquisition, and bridge loans. He has helped clients successfully utilize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans, historic rehabilitation and affordable housing tax credits, tax exempt bonds, market rate equity, project-based Section 8 and non-profit financing structures. Over his career, Paul has also been an independent commercial mortgage broker, a tax-exempt bond investment banker, a low-income housing tax credit investment officer and a commercial banker. 

Mr. Olson earned his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in History and Japanese from Carleton College. He obtained Series 7 and Series 63 Securities licenses. He has been a moderator and speaker at various panel discussions, including Crittenden, the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association, the Real Estate Investment Association, and the Chicago Real Estate Council. Outside of work, Mr. Olson’s main hobbies are sports (basketball, tennis and running) and music (piano and guitar). Mr. Olson, his wife and four children live in suburban Chicago.
